2015 Special Awards Ballot

GVKCmoneyracersCalling all members: it’s time to select winners for the special awards that will be presented at GVKC’s annual banquet. Each current club member is eligible to submit one paper or electronic ballot. Categories include:

  • Most Improved Driver: Junior and Senior
  • Safest Driver: Junior and Senior
  • Best Appearing Kart & Driver: Junior and Senior
  • Most Helpful Mechanic: Oval and Road Course
  • Family of the Year: Oval and Road Course
  • The Dick Castor Sportsmanship Award: Junior & Senior

Join us for our 2015 awards banquet

Save the date for GVKC’s annual awards banquet! Please join us to celebrate another season as a race family.

Dinner will begin around 6 pm, following a social hour with a cash bar. An award presentation will follow, with door prizes given away throughout the evening.

Current members, please look for invitations to be mailed out shortly, including a ballot for special awards to be presented at the banquet. All friends, family and guests are welcome to join us.

Nominate a candidate to the 2016 GVKC Board

Who would you like to see represent the Genesee Valley Kart Club as a 2016 board member? We’re looking for nominations!

This year, candidates can be nominated either by paper form or via an online submission form. Hard copy nomination forms will be mailed to current members within the next few days; you may also use the link at the bottom of this post to nominate one or more candidates. All nominations must be submitted by Monday, October 12th. 


Q: What are the responsibilities of each position?
A: For more information, talk with a current board member or check out Page 6 of the 2015 GVKC rulebook.

Q: Can I nominate myself?
A: Yes, please do! Volunteer support is essential to keep the club running smoothly.

Q: What happens after nominations are submitted?
A: Nominees will be contacted to confirm their acceptance. If two people are nominated to a single position, club members will vote by paper ballot to select a candidate.

Greg Morse Memorial Money Race: September 27, 2015

Greg Morse Memorial Race

Join the Genesee Valley Kart Club for a day of money racing in memory of club member Greg Morse.


Entry fee of $60, payable at registration. The larger the turnout, the larger the payout. For drivers who pre-register on Saturday, practice day fees are included in your entry fee. Registration opens at 9 am and practice begins at 10.

Eligible classes:

  •  Sr. Yamaha Can
  • Sr. Yamaha Pipe
  • TaG

Anticipated format will be a time trial, 10-lap heat, and 15-lap feature. Heats may be split based on class turnout.

WKA engine rules and class specs apply. Karts that do not meet minimum weight requirements will be disqualified from competition. Please see page 10 of the 2015 GVKC handbook for info on club tire specs. Tires will be marked in the scale house following time trials, and must be kept on the kart throughout the day.


GVKC’s standard sprint kart race schedule will also take place on this date. Racing generally begins at 11:30 am. As always, grandstand admission is free for spectators, and concessions are available onsite.

Due to the rainout last weekend, WKA divisional races are now rescheduled for Sunday September 20th.
