Join us for a special day of racing, including a money race for senior two-cycle drivers, to honor club members and loved ones who are no longer with us. Come out and dedicate your race day to the memory of a family member or friend…all drivers and spectators are welcome, and there’s something for everyone!
Donations and drink/snack purchases throughout the day will benefit the Alan Decker Memorial Scholarship Fund, supporting individuals with financial need and a passion for karting. By covering race entry fees and other essential expenses, the fund helps mini-grant recipients to continue doing what they love, while benefitting our club and the larger sport of karting.
MAKE A MEMORIAL PARADE LAP
Dedicate a parade lap to a loved one to help us kick off our heats. Tell us who you are racing for, and their name will be announced as you enter the track. Suggested donation of $5.
LAUNCH A SKY LANTERN
Join us on the track at intermission to send up a sky lantern as an expression of love and remembrance. Bring a family member or friend to help you launch the lantern (pit passes are not needed for this portion of the event). Suggested donation of $20.
MONEY RACE FOR SENIOR TWO-CYCLE CLASSES
Eligible classes are:
The larger the turnout, the larger the payout! Anticipated format will be a time trial, 10-lap heat and 15-lap feature. Heats may be split based on class turnout. WKA engine rules apply; see the GVKC handbook for info on tire and class specs. Tires will be marked following qualifying and must be kept on the kart throughout the day. For more info, contact 2-cycle rep Kevin Orlop at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entry fee of $65. For any entrant who attends practice on August 20 and pre-registers at that time, entry fee will also include practice time.
Join us on July 28th-30th for the 7th Annual Vintage Karting Reunion, hosted by the Genesee Valley Kart Club and the Vintage Karting Association. The VKA seeks to recreate the look and feel of actual karting events of the ’50s through ’80s, including track demonstrations for the enjoyment of spectators and participants.
Open to karts manufactured in the years 1956 through 1985, the event will feature both a judged kart show and scored trophy classes.
