Fall Series Begins + Money Race Rescheduled

2017 FALL SERIES BEGINS Our summer series has come to a close – but it’s not time to put away your kart just yet! Join us for our six-week fall series, starting on Saturday, September 23rd. All active GVKC members who participate in at least four races will be eligible for a fall series award to be presented at our club banquet, scheduled for November 4th, 2015. FALL MONEY RACE TO BE RESCHEDULED GVKC’s annual fall money race, the Greg Morse Memorial Race, will be rescheduled from its original date of Sunday, September 24th to accommodate drivers’ and staff schedules. Please check back or stay tuned via our Facebook page for the new date! Classes slated for money racing include:   Sr. Yamaha Can Sr. Yamaha Pipe TaG Other senior classes interested in participating in a money race, please contact us. Entry fee of $65 will be payable at registration. The larger the turnout, the larger the payout. (A minimum of three entries required per class.) Anticipated format will be a time trial, 10-lap heat, and 15-lap feature. WKA engine rules and class specs apply. Karts must meet minimum weight requirements will be disqualified from competition and use a single set of tires for qualifying, heat and feature. Nominate candidates for our 2018 GVKC Board

It’s that time again! Please tell us who you would like to see represent the Genesee Valley Kart Club as a 2018 board member. Candidates can be nominated anonymously, either by paper form or online. Hard copy forms are available at the track; they can also be printed and mailed to the address on the form. Download a hard copy form. Nominate candidates online. In Memory: Richard S. Maas

Longtime GVKC friend Richard S. Maas, of Webster, passed away on September 1st at age 71. Richard spent much time at the Avon track helping members to get started in karting, and supporting drivers in their racing development. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, September 9th at the Falvo Funeral Home at 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road (Route 250) in Webster. Karting for a Cause: August 26, 2017

Karting For a Cause 1st annual benefit for Golisano Children’s Hospital Saturday, August 26th, 2017 9 am to 5 pm 2123 Lakeville Road Avon, NY 14414 Entry: $5 per person Free for ages 5 & under Join us for a day of fun to support a great cause! Come see what karting is all about and enjoy activities for both kids and adults. Kart and supermoto bike demonstrations, live music, vendors, great food, 50-50 raffle, clowns, a bounce house and more. Plus: donate $25 or more, and sign up for a chance to take a competition kart for a run around our paved asphalt track!* All proceeds raised through the event go to the Golisano Children’s Hospital, serving children and families in the Greater Rochester Area. Alan Decker Memorial Money Race: August 6, 2017

Help us celebrate the life of longtime GVKC member Alan Decker with a special day of racing. **Please note the new date: August 6, 2017.** MEMORIAL CELEBRATION Commemorate Alan by wearing his race colors of red and white. Participate in two parade laps in memory of Alan to kick off the race day. Suggested donation of $5. Launch a sky lantern at the end of the race day in memory of a loved one. Suggested donation of $10. Purchase a 50-50 raffle ticket to benefit the Alan Decker Fund. $5 for a strip of tickets, or $1 for two tickets.   Proceeds from these activities and all drink and snack sales will benefit the Alan Decker Memorial Scholarship Fund, supporting club race fees for drivers with financial need. Donations to the fund can also be made directly, at the concession booth. MONEY RACES FOR TAG & LO206 Entry fee of $65, payable at registration. The larger the turnout, the larger the payout! For any entrant who attends practice on Saturday, August 5th and preregisters at that time, entry fee will also include practice time.
