Weigh in on Reverse Racing

Thank you to everyone who participated in our email poll to let us know whether you’re interested in racing the track in reverse this season. Results from our initial poll: 8 “Yes” votes 4 “No” votes The board has not yet made a decision on whether/how to schedule reverse racing dates in 2015 — most critically, because we are still awaiting blue bags that would safely support different racing configurations. We also want to carefully consider how reverse racing would impact attendance. So far, we are hearing that a majority of members think it would be fun and challenging to try racing with a new configuration. Yes/no answers are not clearly divided by class. 2015 Rulebook Now Available

GVKC’s 2015 rulebook is now available! The board would like to thank everyone for your patience with the editing process. Changes in this updated version include: • The addition of GVKC’s 2015 mission statement • Refinements to class structure / specs • More detail for helmet requirements • More detail for weather cancellation and rainout policies • A scale house weight check procedure • More detail on how points are calculated Please make sure to download a copy and review the rules before your first practice or race day. Register for a 2015 Training Clinic

Driver development is an important part of your experience with GVKC. This season, we’re excited to be partnering with Coyote Motorsports to launch a new training clinic series to help develop your technical skills and knowledge. These clinics will be free to GVKC members. Non-members are also welcome to attend for a fee of $50. Scheduled clinic dates are: Saturday, April 25 (With Coyote – weather allowing) Saturday, May 30 (With Coyote Motorsports) Saturday, July 11 (Coyote rain date) Saturday, August 8 Saturday, September 19 If you’re interested in attending one or more of the clinics, please register in advance through our online form so that we can contact you directly with updates to the schedule and curriculum. Start Your Season! Register for 2015 Rookie School

Join us for Rookie Driving School: Saturday, April 18th 2015 For new drivers of all ages, the Genesee Valley Kart Club’s rookie driving school is a great way to get your season off to a smooth start! Join us to learn the basics of driver safety, track rules and kart maintenance. You’ll also engage in a hands-on practice. In the event of rain, the “classroom” portion of the course will take place, while track time will be rescheduled. Please dress warmly, as it can still be cold at this time of year. GVKC Rookie Driving School Saturday, April 18, 2015 – 9 AM until complete 2123 Lakeville Road Avon, NY 14414 Student Driver Fees: $35 for current GVKC members, or $50 for non-members. All minor drivers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and each person attending the event must purchase a pit pass. Membership forms will be available at the track for attendees who have not yet registered by mail.) Advance registration: Sign-in will take place at the track.
