Post Rookie School - Thanks to everyone involved

There were a lot of new faces out there today. It was good to be able to help one of the new guys out and give them RJ's old driving shoes, and foam neck brace. We were able to provide them with an "X" kart stand that we had laying around.
Dad wasn't feeling well enough to take his initial laps. I was also a bit under the weather, but thanks to Mike, I was allowed to run a couple of break in laps in the new tag. I have some tech issues, and gremlins that are being resolved this week.
Sarah enjoyed training in the control tower. She looks forward to being involved in helping to run the races this season.
The Rookies looked like they all had fun (I know we enjoyed our day, even if it was freezing). We only had one kid kart racer get lost on the track. Mike was wonderful running around the track leading another nervous kid kart driver around. There is going to be some fierce competition in the youngest class at GVKC this year. Will it be the helmet pig tails, or the helmet Mohawk for the win.
Sealed Gold plate has a good number of new drivers. It's going to be good to see them all on the grid.
I hope to see everyone at practice next weekend. Keep it rubber side down.

We also had a good time, well most of us. My other daughter will come around, I know it's in her blood. Thanks Mike's and every one else who helped put on an awsome rookie day!

When she sees the other kids on the track, and has a group to follow, well, we'll see. Kids seem to have a pack mentality about these sorts of things. If there are no other kids karts and she wants to practice I would be honored to take her out and play follow the leader with her in the TAG or RJ's Animal kart. I'm sure there are others that feel the same way.

No problem man. Make sure to arrive early so you can get a pit near the starting grid. Rich Gamrod pulls in there, so you can be close to him for support. Most of the 4 stroke guys tend to hang in that area also. If you don't get a spot in there, come around back on the grass. It's mostly us TAG guys back there usually, but we don't bite... much... Plus RJ is running sealed Gold plate, so maybe between the two of you someone will remember to get your karts on the grid in time for your races :p

Hey Nate - Hope you see this. Tell your dad to have someone make a pillow block that will accept a pressed in bearing for that lower steering mount. Also if he cross drills the shaft and the wheel mount/hub he can toss a bolt through there and it will tighten the whole thing up. We can re-mount those tires and check the rims at my place in Henrietta. You guys can contact me at 585.315.1139.
