Are you new to karting? For new drivers of all ages, our rookie driving school is a great way to get your season off to a smooth start. Join us to learn the basics of driver safety, track rules and kart maintenance. You’ll find out what to expect on race day, and learn about required safety gear and flags to watch for. In the event of rain, the “classroom” portion of the course will take place, while track time will be rescheduled. Please dress warmly, as it can still be cold at this time of year.
Student Driver Fees: $35 for current GVKC members, or $50 for non-members, payable by cash or check at sign-in. All minor drivers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and each person attending the event must purchase a pit pass. Membership forms will be available at the track for attendees who have not yet registered by mail or at the annual membership meeting.
Pre-registration: Sign-in will take place at the track. Please let us know you plan to attend through our online pre-registration form. This will help us to tailor our curriculum and ensure that we can contact you with any updates regarding Rookie Driving School. Payment by cash or check will be due at sign-in.
Schedule:
*Club rules require new drivers to complete three practices before competing. Rookie drivers who wish to participate in opening weekend on April 22-23 should plan to attend practice on Sunday, April 17th.
