Sunday May 31st race status

Hey Everyone,

Current track conditions are cold and wet. Forecasts indicate there is a strong possibility of this continuing over the next few hours. I’ll post an update around 10 am to report whether the conditions or forecasts have changed. Just a reminder that we will keep the possibility of competition open until we can be certain the track cannot be race ready by 12:30 pm.

Thank You

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for bearing with us these first couple weeks of racing.  There are a few new faces on the board this year so we are trying our best to have things run smoothly and safely.  We hope you are having fun so far at GVKC this season!  And as a reminder there is NO racing this coming weekend but the track will be open Saturday May 23 for anyone that just wants to get some practice in.

See You Next Weekend

Just a reminder that the track is closed for Mother’s Day weekend. Enjoy your time with family…and we’ll see you next week!

Welcome back!

GVKCheader---TAGs-and-TowerIt’s opening weekend! We’re excited to welcome you back. Just a few reminders to get your season off to a smooth start:

  • Please note: since publication, the 2015 rulebook has been updated with a change to the minimum weight for the Jr. Pro Gas Class (from 330 lbs to 320 lbs).
  • If you have not submitted your membership forms, we encourage you to print the forms from our website and fill them out in advance. This will help to ensure that registration runs smoothly on opening day, and get you out on the track sooner.
  • Drive safe…drive fast…have fun.

Weigh in on Reverse Racing

Thank you to everyone who participated in our email poll to let us know whether you’re interested in racing the track in reverse this season. Results from our initial poll:

  • 8 “Yes” votes
  • 4 “No” votes

The board has not yet made a decision on whether/how to schedule reverse racing dates in 2015 — most critically, because we are still awaiting blue bags that would safely support different racing configurations. We also want to carefully consider how reverse racing would impact attendance.

So far, we are hearing that a majority of members think it would be fun and challenging to try racing with a new configuration. Yes/no answers are not clearly divided by class. If you have not yet weighed in, please let us know what you think:

Pop-Up Poll: Tell us whether you’re interested in racing in reverse this season.
