Who would you like to see represent the Genesee Valley Kart Club as a 2016 board member? We’re looking for nominations!
This year, candidates can be nominated either by paper form or via an online submission form. Hard copy nomination forms will be mailed to current members within the next few days; you may also use the link at the bottom of this post to nominate one or more candidates. All nominations must be submitted by Monday, October 12th.
Q: What are the responsibilities of each position?
A: For more information, talk with a current board member or check out Page 6 of the 2015 GVKC rulebook.
Q: Can I nominate myself?
A: Yes, please do! Volunteer support is essential to keep the club running smoothly.
Q: What happens after nominations are submitted?
A: Nominees will be contacted to confirm their acceptance. If two people are nominated to a single position, club members will vote by paper ballot to select a candidate.
Join the Genesee Valley Kart Club for a day of money racing in memory of club member Greg Morse.
Entry fee of $60, payable at registration. The larger the turnout, the larger the payout. For drivers who pre-register on Saturday, practice day fees are included in your entry fee. Registration opens at 9 am and practice begins at 10.
Anticipated format will be a time trial, 10-lap heat, and 15-lap feature. Heats may be split based on class turnout.
WKA engine rules and class specs apply. Karts that do not meet minimum weight requirements will be disqualified from competition. Please see page 10 of the 2015 GVKC handbook for info on club tire specs. Tires will be marked in the scale house following time trials, and must be kept on the kart throughout the day.
GVKC’s standard sprint kart race schedule will also take place on this date. Racing generally begins at 11:30 am. As always, grandstand admission is free for spectators, and concessions are available onsite.
Due to the rainout last weekend, WKA divisional races are now rescheduled for Sunday September 20th.
Just a reminder that the track is closed on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th for the Labor Day holiday. We hope you enjoy these final days of summer with family and friends!
We’ll be back next weekend to wrap up our summer series with one more oval race on Saturday, September 12th and sprint race on Sunday, September 13th. We invite you to come out and celebrate the close of a great series (and to pick up a 2015 club t-shirt, if you don’t yet have one).
Our six-week fall series will start on Saturday, September 19th — so don’t put the kart away yet! Active GVKC members who participate in at least four races in the fall series will be eligible for a plaque at our fall awards banquet, happening on November 14th.
