Sunday was a bust. The rain stopped for a little while, and the Batavia club kindly offered to dry the track with their karts. Just about the time the brooms were hitting the track to clear the last puddles the sky opened up again. WKA chose to take a rain day, although two drivers mounted up rain tires got a few practice laps in. It wasn’t bad, though. The younger kids were sliding around on the pedal trikes in the rain. The teens mounted an assault and took residence in Rich’s trailer, using it as a clubhouse of sorts. We had some good conversations about safety, and track etiquette. Best of all I was home by early afternoon, and got a nap in. Not a bad day, spent with good folks.
